Hello all our members, student members, and affiliates!
2019 has been a great year. As the year is coming to an end, let’s look back on some of the highlights:
The NCUS 2019 Spring Symposium at the Embassy Suites in Concorde, NC was a great time. Diane Reed was named the NCUS Sonographer of Excellence for 2019. Thank you, Diane, for your hard work and commitment to your coworkers, and your field. The 2019 Spring Symposium Quiz Bowl was an exciting competition. The Quiz Bowl winners were the Cape Fear Community College Sea Devils (Lauren Gasque, Ashton, Strickland, and Taylor Bean) for the Echo portion, and the Asheville-Buncombe Technical College Triphasics (Ashley Gillet, Vincent Gendusa, and Amy Taylor) for the General portion. Christina Gonzalez presented a great Case of the Day about a patient with a phyllodes tumor, which sparked a lot of interest and conversation from members. Autumn-Lynn Snowden and Brittany Brookshire were this year’s NCUS Grant Foundation winners. They were able to attend the entire symposium for free, thanks to all the donations from our members to the NCUS Grant Foundation!
The NCUS 2019 Fall Symposium at Carolina Beach was a great success! It was a gorgeous weekend and the venue, Carolina Beach Marriot, was fantastic. Members had the privilege of hearing some great speakers and socializing with their fellow sonographers. Some of our dedicated vendors attended and showed off their newest equipment and products. A couple vendors gave out some fantastic prizes, including a Samsung phone from, you guessed it…the Samsung team.
The NCUS puts on some great symposiums. Thank you to all the board members who dedicate countless hours researching, planning, making phone calls, and all the work you do behind the scenes to make our symposiums so awesome. There is always a lot of learning going on at these events. Thank you to all our speakers for coming to share your knowledge with us. Thank you to the vendors who came out to show us all their great products and services. And thank YOU all our members who attended the symposiums and support our society. We love the opportunity to come together with other professionals in our field and share these great opportunities for learning.
If you don’t attend these awesome symposiums, you are missing out!
