In the past 30 years the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography has experienced remarkable growth and change.  Over the span of those 30 years, the NCUS has focused on keeping its members in step with those changes.     Through two symposiums each year, the NCUS presents members with information that sonographers can incorporate into their daily practice, whether it be the latest research, or tried and true information, materials and methods.
Now for a remarkable 30th consecutive year, your NCUS Board of Directors is preparing for the annual Spring Symposium.  On Friday, March 25th, Dr. Fred Kremkau will present a Sonographic Physics Review for those preparing for the SPI examination.    On Saturday and Sunday, national and local speakers will be present information in multiple sonography modalities with three sessions running concurrently.  In addition to speakers, the exhibit hall will allow participants to see the latest sonography equipment available from national equipment manufacturers.
Mark your calendars for March 25-27, 2011 and join us at the Twin City Quarter, Benton Convention Center, Winston Salem, NC.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Embassy Suites, 460 Cherry Street, 336.724.2300.  Rates of $129.00 plus tax (Parking is included as well as full cooked-to-order breakfast and Manager's reception each evening).  Room Block Cut-off date: Thursday, February 24th at 12:01am

The Fall Symposium in Chapel Hill was well attended.  Participants were presented with a focused analysis of the most current information available in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Neurosonography, Transcranial Doppler, Echocardiography, Musculoskeletal, Breast, and Pediatric applications.  All levels of  sonographers from beginning to advanced were presented with topics selected to build practical knowledge and application.  A 50/50 raffle was also held and the lucky winner was Susan Young.  Thank you to everyone who attended the 2010 Fall Symposium.

2011 Fall Symposium is headed to the Beach!

Be sure to mark your calendars for the 2011 Fall Symposium to be held October 22nd at Carolina Beach, NC
